In 1985, on the 40th anniversary of the Victory, the Museum Complex of Military Glory of Omsk was opened in Omsk at the initiative of the Committee of Veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the members of the Joint Literary Museum. The museum's collection contains exhibits telling about the military acts of bravery of Omsk natives, who participated in many famous battles: the Battle of Kursk, the battles on the Volga and near Moscow, as well as in the capture of Berlin.
The largest exhibition of the museum called "Forever in Memory" is devoted to the war topics: it includes weapons and clothing of the era, and letters from the front, and knitted socks that were sent to the front for the soldiers. There is an open air exposition of military equipment, mainly related to the period of the Great Patriotic War, next to the museum.
