Kaliningrad Regional Museum of History and Art opened in 1946 and since then has several times changed rooms. The last refuge of the museum is the building of the concert hall of Stadthalle built in 1912.
The spirit of the Soviet time is still felt in this museum. If you want to see museum attendants in the halls, how they looked like in the USSR, then you can see them. The museum would be better called a local history museum, since there is a section about the nature of the region with dioramas of the Baltic, archaeological exposition, and stuffed animals. In the historical hall household items and weapons of the XIII - XX centuries are collected. In the military hall there is a diorama "Shturm Koenigsberga" (Koenigsberg assault). The post-war history is represented by the items of the first Soviet settlers, numismatics and jewelry made of amber.
