Having barely glanced at the sanatorium "Yasnaya Polyana" in Gaspra near Yalta, one can understand that this building is with a great history. The “Yasnaya Polyana” estate was built in the 1830s for Princess Golitsina. Her fascination with mysticism influenced the Gothic style of the building. Two three-level crenellated towers framed a medieval castle made of gray stone. The estate was given the unofficial name "Romantic Alexandria", in honor of Tsar Alexander I.
The "Yasnaya Polyana" estate is surrounded by a park. The estate acquired the name "Yasnaya Polyana" after the writer Leo Tolstoy visited it several times. He restored his health here after a serious illness. An exhibition dedicated to the writer is arranged in one of the rooms of the estate today. Although a sanatorium has been functioning here for many years, the estate has not lost its beauty and original appearance. But unfortunately only those who have health resort voucher for this sanatorium can get to its territory.
