Switzerland Recreation Park is located in Nizhny Novgorod on the banks of the Oka River. Residents of Nizhny Novgorod as well as tourists like to relax in this wonderful park. The park is more than 100 years old. Teachers and students of the city gymnasiums initiated creation of this park in the distant 1903. They also owned an idea of calling this place of rest “Switzerland".

In the middle of the 20th century the territory of the Switzerland Recreation Park was substantially expanded and ennobled. Now there is a mini-zoo on its territory, among the animals of which there are tigers and camels. Тhere is also a small amusement park here.
