The Ship-Museum "Goto Predestinatsia", or "God’s Providence" is a replica of the first Russian Naval warship of the line, restored in 2014 as per old drawings and paintings. The original ship was built in Voronezh under the guidance of Emperor Peter the Great and set afloat in 1700. It was the first ship built by Russian shipwrights, however it has always been commanded by foreigners, mostly invited from Scandinavia and Holland. The crew was made up of the captive Swedes. The ship took the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea, reached Constantinople, but had never gone into combat and was eventually sold to the Turks.
The Ship-Museum "Goto Predestinatsia" is moored to the Admiralty Square, where Peter's dockyards worked. You can climb aboard with a guided tour and view the ship’s hold with guns, get to know the life of sailors and look at the wax figure of Peter the Great in the ornate wardroom. The museum exhibits also include models of the dockyard and various vessels of the Petrine era, replicas of cold and fire weapon, as well as uniforms.
