The Museum of World Funeral Culture is located in the Memorial Park of Novosibirsk crematorium. Its exposition "has grown" from the collection of Sergei Yakushin, the director of Novosibirsk crematorium. He had been collecting funeral antiques for over 20 years. Now they are displayed in two buildings, one of which will tell you about the funeral traditions of Europe and Russia of the XVIII - XIX centuries. The Victorian funeral house has been recreated here through a waxwork. The museum also exhibits a collection of mourning dresses, hats and ornamentals.
The second building of the Museum of World Funeral Culture contains artifacts and replicas associated with the customs of ancient Egypt, Africa, China, India and the Muslim countries. Particular attention is given to the pre-Christian Slavic tradition to bury in small huts - "coffins". Instruments of torture and execution, death masks are exhibited here. A separate room is devoted to the history of funeral of Lenin, Stalin and the British Princess Diana, as well as to Pushkin-Dantes duel.
