The Museum of the History of Architecture and Industrial Machinery of the Urals was opened in March 1975 in the workshops of the former Yekaterinburg mechanical factory. It exhibits a large-size equipment from the Ural factories of the XVIII-XIX centuries, as well as subjects of labor and everyday items of mine owners.
The bust of Emperor Peter I, the founder of industrial production in the Urals, decorates the Museum of the History of Architecture and Industrial Machinery of Urals. Later, the Ural Design Development Center became one of the divisions of the museum. This enabled to provide the public with exhibits and artifacts telling about the evolution of an architectural thought of Yekaterinburg.
