Bronze five-meter monument to Prince Vladimir was installed in 1994 at the entrance to the national preserve "Tauric Chersonese". Later it was transferred to the park on a hill at the entrance to Chersonesus.
The monument to Prince Vladimir was created thanks to a private donation. The Russian sculptor Klykov depicted the prince in a helmet and cloak, with a shield and a large cross. According to the "Tale of Bygone Years" Prince Vladimir and his soldiers were baptized in Chersonesus in 988, which was a prerequisite for the prince's marriage to the sister of the Byzantine emperor Anna, promised in exchange for military assistance to Byzantium
