Kazan Lenin House-Museum, opened in 1937 in the historic Orlovs' Estate of the late XIX century, is associated with the student's period in the biography of a future revolutionary. Here the Ulyanovs family lived from 1888 to 1889. It is known that they moved to Kazan from Simbirsk mainly for the sake of training the future leader of the world proletariat at the Kazan Imperial University. It was in this educational institution in 1887 that Ulyanov-Lenin was enrolled in the Faculty of Law.
The authentic furnishings and interiors of the house of that period were recreated in the Lenin House-Museum, personal belongings of the leader, documents, books, photographs and other evidence of the era are exhibited in the museum. In 1937 Lenin’s younger brother and sister took an active part in the creation of the museum.
