A fantastic building in the shape of a flying saucer in the Millennium Square belongs to the Kazan Circus. Its auditorium accommodates more than two thousand spectators. Despite the unusual architecture, the circus was built in the distant 1967 and since then it has never been actually repaired.
They say that in the development of the project of the Kazan circus architects were assisted by specialists of the Kazan Physical-Technical Institute. This is an alien building on 289 piles 23 meters high - the first in the USSR concrete monolith built without any columns supporting the arch. In addition to the circus itself with two arenas, there is a museum and a children's circus school inside the building.
