Fishing Village arose in the center of Kaliningrad on the embankment of the Staraya Pregolya river as an ethnographic complex on the site of the historic district of Lomza. And although the buildings here were built only in 2006, all of them are designed in the medieval half-timbering style.
The Information Center of the Fishing Village district is next to the 31-meter Viewing Tower Lighthouse, from where one can admire the panorama of the city. The entrance ticket for the tower includes an inspection of the collection of weapons and household items of the XVI century found during the construction of the complex. Pleasure boats run from the hithe. On the Honey Bridge from the Fishing Village one can go to the Kant Island. According to tradition, in memory of the wedding day the bride and groom leave padlocks on the pedestrian bridge.
