Egersheld Lighthouse or Tokarev Cat: on the very edge of the continent

Unforgettable sensations will be experienced by everyone who visits the Egersheld Lighthouse. For more than a century it helps ships to bypass the treacherous sea strand, the "cat", towering 11 meters above the man-made bay-bar which is called the Tokarev cat. The lighthouse built in 1876 has never been rebuilt, its white round tower is perfectly preserved to the present day.

The Egersheld Lighthouse can be reached by bus or car. There is parking and there is a paid beach here. In this place one can feel like a small person on the edge of a huge continent and meet the beginning of the day. It is on the Tokarev cat that the Pacific «begins». In the cold season common seals have long ago chosen this region for their wintering grounds.
