The main Orthodox church of Vladivostok - the Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God was erected in 1900-1902. Prior to this, there was a chapel built here in 1885 which in a cold season was heated by a Dutch oven. The new church was designed for 700 parishioners, but on great feasts more than a thousand believers came here.
In 1935 the Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God was blown up. Only a solid foundation remained from the former majestic building. The temple was rebuilt in 2007. Today there is the altar stand of the Metropolitan Benjamin of Vladivostok and Primorsk in the Cathedral of the Intercession. Question-and-answer discussions and gospel talks are regularly held for the faithful in the cathedral.
