The All Saints Cathedral is located in the center of Tula. The height of its bell tower is 82 meters. Thanks to that and the fact that the temple stands on a hill, it is visible from anywhere in the city. The temple is especially beautiful in the evening when the backlight is turned on.
In 1776 at this place in the cemetery the first church was built in the name of the Second Coming of Christ. Later a second floor was attached to it. The bell tower, decorated with figures of angels, appeared in the beginning of the XIX century, and today it is one of the highest in the world bell-towers of Orthodox churches. After all the changes, the church looks like a model of early Russian classicism with elements of baroque. Throughout the Soviet period the cathedral was opened. Several shrines are kept inside the temple. In particular, a particle of the relics of Saint Pantaleon the Healer and the image of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker with a difficult fate. This icon, painted on Mount Athos, was kept in the St. Kazan Church of Tula, but disappeared with its destruction in the twentieth century. After some time it was found by carpenters who were going to use it as a floor board. It is known, that the altar server of the All Saints Cathedral bought the icon from the carpenters for a bottle of vodka.
