Part of the medieval ramparts and towers has beenpreserved on Torturmplatz Square in Worms. Since 2001, the Nibelungen Museum hasbeen in this building. It is hard to imagine a more demonstrative backdrop forthe epic poem "The Song of the Nibelungs". Evendespite the fact that the story of the treasure of the Nibelungs is nothingmore than a myth!
The NibelungenMuseum in Worms is an exhibition, divided into several parts. In the first,so-called visual Tower the visitors climb the stairs, listening to the storyabout the origins of the legend. A whirlwind of images of heroes and scenesfrom the saga emerges from a huge magic wand in the center of the tower. Herewe are reminded of the opera "The Ring of the Nibelungs" by RichardWagner, which has stirred up interest in the epic in the XIX century. The tourcontinues on the city wall with the story about Worms of the XIII century. In thesecond tower, guests can take the wooden "thrones", listen to the songand the Scandinavian epics connected with it. The top of the tower offers apanoramic view of the city.
