The first churchdedicated to St. Nicholas was built in Nürburg in the XIII century. The presentchurch building dates back to the XV century. The temple was rebuilt andrestored several times throughout its history. So today, features of severaleras can be found both outside and inside St. Nicholas Church. These featuresrange from the Gothic choir of the XV century with the coat of arms of thearchbishops of Cologne and the Counts of Nürburg to the baroque roof (1816) andthe stained glass (beginning of the XX century).
The basalt stone font (1660) with images of saints isconsidered the oldest and most valuable object of the church. You should alsolook at the magnificent neo-Gothic altar of the XIX century and listen to thesound of bells cast in 1928.
