Talks about the Zolotoy Bridge, which would connect the two banks of the Golden Horn Bay, were conducted in Vladivostok almost from the time of its foundation. In the 50s of the last century a new bridge was included in the city development plan, but it was built only in 2012. This event was strongly promoted by the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit held in the city in early September 2012.
A two-kilometer cable-stayed six-lane Zolotoy Bridge with a four-lane road tunnel and pedestrian paths connected the city center with the sleeping areas and saved residents and visitors from traffic jams. The bridge impresses with its grandiose dimensions and futuristic forms. It looks particularly impressive in the dark thanks to the bright night illumination.
