Victory Park in Nizhny Novgorod received the first visitors in 1985. It was opened in honor of the 40th anniversary of the victory of the USSR in the Great Patriotic War. From the very beginning silent witnesses and participants in the events of that war were installed here: a T-10 tank, a mortar launcher and an anti-aircraft gun.
Totally there are already 34 units of military equipment now in the alleys of the Victory Park. There are explanatory signs near the exhibits. Children usually like an artificially created dug out shelter which one can climb. On holidays in good weather the dishes of the field kitchen are cooked in the park. One can also see the thematic exposition “Defense Line" and "Soldier's Halt" and walk along the alley of veterans. Тhe city authorities plan expansion of the territory and exposition of the Park.
