Tveritskaya Embankment on the left bank of the Volga in Yaroslavl is an observation deck from where the Strelka is visible, as well as the site of the Assumption Cathedral, cultural and historical objects, and a popular beach. Tveritskaya Embankment appeared in the city in 1957 and was named so due to its location on the former territory of the homonymous settlement. There are several notable objects along it. There was the most ancient man site of the Neolithic age in this place in the V century BC, and on this occasion a monument is installed here in the form of a stone with a tablet with a relevant inscription.
Another significant memorial sign on the Tveritskaya Embankment is dedicated to the Solovetsky ship boys, 200 young natives of Yaroslavl who voluntarily left for the Northern Fleet during the Great Patriotic War, graduated from the Solovetsky School for ship boys and fought for their homeland. Another naval-themed monument is dedicated to the submarine M-104 named “Yaroslavskiy Komsomolets”, which patrolled the waters at the Norwegian border in 1942-1944. There are also several architectural monuments of the XVIII century on the embankment: the Church of Sophia, the Wisdom of God, the Church of Saints Zosima and Savvaty and a number of residential buildings. Tveritskaya Embankment is ideal for walking in silence, without crowds, along the atmospheric, historical places.
