The Theater Square is the historical and cultural center of Krasnodar. It is customary to hold solemn events here with the participation of Cossacks, as well as install a huge Christmas tree and different attractions on New Year’s. In 1967, the square was called the Square of the October Revolution. But the citizens did not accept the new name, especially that the facade of the local State Academic Drama Theater looked out on it. The Theatre Square was given its former name back only in 2013.
The main point of attraction on the Theater Square is a musical fountain presented to the citizens of Krasnodar for the City Day in 2011. It is considered to be the largest flat fountain in Europe! Its 370 water jets can rise up to 25 meters! The illumination, consisting of 600 lamps, is turned on at night, and the music enhances the impression of the illuminated water jets. Specialists can show the viewers about 400 different compositions with the help of water, music and computer technologies! There are many benches near the fountain, and the trees in tubs, placed here everywhere, create coziness. So you can make yourself snug and enjoy the light and musical show.
