Two-storied building of the Gallery of the Union of Artists of Russia in Chelyabinsk was built near the Revolution Square in 1980. Its facade is decorated with three full-breasted virgins, symbolizing "painting", "sculpting" and "architecture." It is interesting to look at the gallery building from the point of view of the real Soviet architecture: now they do not build like this anymore.
Today the gallery of the Union of Artists in Chelyabinsk is one of the largest ones in Russia. It covers an area of 2500 square meters and is divided into four show-rooms. Various opening-days, temporary thematic exhibitions, meetings with artists, lectures and events are held here.
