Pyatigorsk Eagle Monument is the main symbol not only of the city, but of all the Caucasian Mineral Waters. This monument was installed on the Hot Mountain in 1903 to the 100th anniversary of Pyatigorsk. According to the local legend, when the snake bit the eagle that had seized it, the eagle nearly died from poison, but the water from a mountain spring saved him.
On the way to the top of the Hot Mountain of Pyatigorsk one can relax in the elegant Chinese Arbor. Its history is as follows. At the turn of the XIX — XX centuries on the mountainside there was an original arbor with multicolored glazing. In 1976 the dilapidated arbor was replaced with a new one — with eight thin metal columns and a hipped roof in the style of Chinese pagodas. A breathtaking view of the mountains Mashuk, Beshtau and Elbrus and Kislovodsk city opens from the arbor. Chinese Arbor is very much popular with tourists and locals, as it produces beautiful romantic photo sessions in the light of the setting sun.
