The amazing Solnechny Ostrov ("Sunny Island") Park is located on an island in the floodplain of the Kuban River. History brings us back to the very beginning of the XX century, when the island was home to a private farm for cultivation of fruit trees. Later a nursery and a flower farm were opened here. In 1959 the territory of the island became a park of culture and recreation.
The Solnechny Ostrov ("Sunny Island") Park is densely planted with various trees - pines, birches, limes, nut-trees and oaks. Some of them are 100-150 years old! There are attractions, cafes, a water park, a paintball field and a tennis court in the park. The local "Safari Park" Zoo contains 500 animals and birds. Walruses, which perform in one-of-a-kind "Theater of Pinnipeds" in Russia, are held in high esteem here. Show with the participation of trained walruses Lucy and Dusi is held every day except Tuesday.
