Samara Railway Station is the highest station building in Europe. Its height including the dome and spire is 101 meters! There is a viewing platform around the dome, on the 12th floor, which overlooks the city. You can climb the viewing platform with a guided tour.
Samara Railway Station was opened in 2001. Its second floor houses a Road Museum of Kuybyshev Railway History, which has been operating since 1936. The permanent exhibition includes photographs, documents, railroaders’ uniform, models and mockups of steam locomotives and a replica of the first Russian steam locomotive, the Provorny (Brisk), created in the XIX century.
