The Revolution Square in Chelyabinsk being monumental in the Soviet way is surrounded by handsome buildings. Among them, in particular, the stone People's House of 1903, where the Chelyabinsk State Youth Theatre is located as well as the building of the Chelyabinsk State Academic Drama Theatre named after Nahum Orlov, founded in 1921.
On the Revolution Square there is also a one-storied House of Batrakov of the XIX century. It housed the first city brewery at the beginning of the last century. Today this run-down building is the oldest one in Chelyabinsk. On the square there is also a musical fountain and an indispensable for many Russian cities monument to Lenin, where citizens like to appoint meetings next to his right leg. Pedestrian Street Kirovka begins from this square.
