The Museum of Cossacks opened in the capital of the Kuban in 2008. It is a cozy museum, quite unlike the strict museum institutions. It started with the first exhibition on the history of the Cossacks, and a permanent exposition was organized in 2011, when the museum got its own premises on Vinogradnaya Street. The old one-story building was repaired by efforts of Cossacks and enthusiasts of the city.
The Museum of Cossacks presents ancient maps, photographs, letters, books, paintings that reflect the life of the Cossacks from the time of settlement of the Kuban before the Revolution. Here you can also learn about the history of the Kuban Cossacks from the period of revival of the national ethos in the 1980s until now. The exhibition of household items, clothing, weapons and outfit of Cossacks attracts the particular attention of visitors.
