The monument to Vladimir Lenin was installed in the park on the Central Square of Tyumen in 1979. A nine-meter-high statue on a six-meter granite pedestal is considered to be the largest bronze sculpture of Lenin in Russia!
The author of the monument to Lenin - sculptor Alexei Portyanko - did not live to finish the work on the monument, his work was completed by his son Nikolai. The statue was cast from bronze at the Leningrad plant. A monument to the founder of the USSR stands between two post-war buildings. Behind him is the building of the Administration of the Tyumen Region, and the face of the monument is addressed to the Tyumen Oblast Duma.
