Komsomolskaya Square — a Place of Meetings and Farewells

Komsomolskaya Square in Alexandrov adjoins the railway station. The brick railroad complex, which includes a church, was built in the town at the dawn the 20th century. The station itself is a symmetrical eclectic varied-height building with elements of classicism: the central part has two floors, while the lateral ones are single-storeyed. The appendages of the railway station: the luggage room, the ambulance room and the foreman house are built in the Art Nouveau style. The octagonal tower once served as a water house.

There is a chapel of St. Seraphim of Sarov in pseudo-Russian style standing on Komsomolskaya Square near the main station building. It was initially enriched with carvings, and today it looks much more modest, with ascetic interiors. The chapel stores a particle of the relics of St. Seraphim of Sarov. Near the railway station there is also a Monument to the Alexandrovtsy: a monument to those who died defending Alexandrov during the Great Patriotic War.
