Pedestrian Street Kirovka is the oldest street in Chelyabinsk. Transportation from it was removed in 2004. At the same time the avenue received its modern name, the fifth one after being the Ufimskaya, Yekaterinburgskaya, Raboche-Krestianskaya and Kirovskaya Street. There are old merchant houses of the late XIX - early XX century along the street as well as the oldest cinema of the city "Znamya".
Visitors are willingly photographed on the Kirovka with numerous bronze sculptures, such as the Levsha Podkovavshiy Blokhu (A left-handed man that shod a flea), the Beggar man, the Shoe Cleaner and the Governor. The 23-storied skyscraper of Chelyabinsk-City, the highest building of the city (111 meters high), is also located here. Cafes and shops make the street busy and attract city dwellers and visitors.
