The first wooden church in place of the present Holy Trinity Church was erected in Chelyabinsk in 1786. By the beginning of the 20th century it had decayed a lot and was dismantled. And in 1914 a new Holy Trinity Church was dedicated in its place.
In the times of the USSR the Holy Trinity Church was badly damaged: the domes were demolished and the property was plundered. The room was given to the Museum of Local Lore. And only by 1988 the temple was restored. Restoration work has been going on here today as well: the interior and wall paintings in the Vasnetsov style are being recreated. Some parts of holy relic of St. Andrew the Apostle, St. Seraphim of Sarov and St. Matrona of Moscow are stored in the temple.
