The only funicular in the Far East has been carrying passengers for more than 50 years along the slope of Eagle's Nest Mount. Before its appearance it was possible to climb up only by overcoming 368 steps of a steep staircase which still exists. However, now most of the townspeople and visitors of the city prefer a short trip in a bright trailer. During the ascent it is so nice to admire the stunning views of the central part of the city and the Golden Horn Bay.
Funicular raises the passengers to almost two hundred meters high observation platform on the Eagle's Nest Mount, which was named in memory of the heroic defense of the Eagle Rock in Bulgaria in 1877. They say that to come to the city and not to visit this observation platform is like not to visit Vladivostok. From the site one can have a long look at the sea surface of the Golden Horn Bay, watch the bustle of the seaport and the slow movement of trains at the station. In short, to capture at a glance the most outstanding sights of the city.
