Cruiser "Aurora" is known to many chiefly as a "cradle of the revolution": it is this cruiser from which volleys were fired, followed by the assault on the Winter Palace in October 1917. Meanwhile, the Cruiser "Aurora", which was first set afloat in 1900, took part in the Russo-Japanese War and World War I, was in Bangkok in 1911 as part of the celebrations in honor of the coronation of the King of Siam, defended Leningrad at the city’s door during the Great Patriotic War, was a training base of the Nakhimov Naval Academy, as well as "starred" as a Cruiser "Varyag" in the eponymous movie. Nowadays, sailors of the Naval Fleet are in a continuous active service on the Cruiser "Aurora".
Cruiser "Aurora", which passed through extensive repair in 2014-2016, is currently a branch of the Central Naval Museum and an object of cultural heritage of Russia. The museum displays the engine and boiler rooms, the renovated flagman cabin, an exposition with a radio station, photographs and weapons of the twentieth century, as well as personal belongings and documents of the crew.
