The first coin, thrown in 1887 into the donation cup at spring No. 17, marked the beginning of construction of the Church of St. Panteleimon in Yessentuki. A five-domed church in the Russian-Byzantine style was erected nine years later. The church of St. Panteleimon consisted of three chapels, and the interior space was decorated with a porcelain iconostasis. There was a parochial school and a temple library at the church. In 1932 the church was destroyed.
In 1992, the authorities of Yessentuki decided to restore the Church of St. Panteleimon. The new church is located on the outskirts of the Therapeutic Park. Its domes sparkle with a bright turquoise color. Outside, the church is decorated with mosaic. The inner space of the church consists of the lower and upper chapels, and there are many icons on the walls. The restoration of the church is underway, however divine services are currently held in it.
