The Church of St. George is an age-mate of the XXI century, at the same time it contains one of the oldest and most revered Orthodox shrines and has the status of a monument. The church keeps the icon of St. George with the relics and the icon of "Iverskaya" Mother of God. It was written and consecrated on Mount Athos. In addition, there are books of remembrance here with a list of the names of Samara residents, who died during wars and other major tragedies.
The Church of St. George is made in the Byzantine style and lined with the Ural marble. Eye-catching are its five domes. The upper part of the church has an observation deck overlooking the Volga, and the lower part - a marble baptistery. There is a monument to Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom in front of the church, opened in 2011.
