Viktualienmarkt food market can be seen from afar: in the middle of the market there is a Maypole, painted in white and blue, all in bright ribbons. Fruits, vegetables, pickles, bakery products, sausages, cheeses, spices: you can and should try all of them! People come here not only for shopping, but also for communication, a cup of beer with friends.

At the beginning of the XIX century the old market on Marienplatz became too small for traders and buyers. And King Maximilian I ordered to organize a new place to trade, which later the residents and guests of Munich loved so much.
