The town hall with golden hall and roof is the main attraction for travelers in Schwabach. However the golden roof is only partially the truth. Only the spire on the roof is gilded. The rest of the roof is covered with common tiles, and somewhat resembles the roof of a Chinese pagoda.
There is another treasure hiding inside the town hall – a golden hall. Its authors are famous German graphic artists Kurt Severin and Max Friese. They used 14 thousand plates of well-known Schwabach gold leaves.
