“Black Horse” is the oldest remaining tavern in Lower Rhine. It was opened in 1603 in a beautiful red brick Renaissance house. The first owner of the public house was brewer Jacob Sporr, his signboard is still hanging on the building. Lately owners have been changing each other quite often. It is not that easy to provide profitability of a 400 sq. m. large restaurant, taking into consideration it has no veranda. Currently the ground floor with a bar and a restaurant is open daily. Two halls in the upper floors are booked for events. The cellar works Thursday to Saturday and thematic evenings with live music take place there.
