St. George's Cathedral is the main temple of Dinkelsbühl and its symbol. This is Germany’s biggest hall church, built in 1499 in the late Gothic style. Talented architect Nikolaus Eseler is the author of the project. His son, another talented master, helped him, since the church was built during a long time -50 years! The bell tower of the cathedral is an architectural dominant of Dinkelsbühl. It offers views of the city and the surrounding area.
The inside of the temple is decorated with altars of the XVI-XIX centuries, the sculptures of the XVII century and magnificent tombs of important church and city officials of the region and the city. It will also be interesting to view the artfully decorated stained-glass windows.
