In 150-260, during the reign of Emperor AntoninusPius, Roman fort Shirenhof was stationed to the west of today’s SchwäbischGmünd. There are Roman baths a hundred meters from the fort, which were used bysoldiers and residents of the local villages. The fort was not destroyed byenemies: as soon as the Roman troops left, the local people dismantled the wallfor their own construction needs.
Only in thetwentieth century the fort Shirenhof was partially restored, along with thewalls of the former baths with fragments of sewage. It was also possible torestore some of the details of the term’s decoration- a statue of a nymph, forexample. The ancient Roman baths’ model displayed there speaks about their holisticform.
