Luisium palace and park, dating back to the 18th century and located in the garden kingdom of Dessau-Wörlitzer, is a present of the Duke Leopold III to his spouse Margarita Louise. Least of all this present resembles a castle, as it is a small English-style mansion. But inside it looks richer thanks to ceiling stucco, frescos depicting woman’s virtues and marble decoration.
Adjacent to the palace is an English park with neogothic Snake house. In reality it is not a terrarium but a guest house. It welcomes guests even today, and owes its name to the drains in the shape of snake heads. A view on the meadows and stables that have existed since the construction of the palace opens from the park. it looks richer thanks to ceiling stucco, frescos depicting woman’s virtues and marble decoration.
