The Jewelry Museum in Schwäbisch Gmünd is at one ofthe country's oldest jewelry factories, Ott-Pauser factory. Founded in 1845,the factory was perhaps the richest in the town. Its products have won medalsat international exhibitions and were exported abroad.
The factory hardware,including a melting furnace, a mechanical hammer, jewelry rolling mill,polishing machines, has been preserved and is available for inspection. The premiseswith accounting ledgers and accounts of the factory were also recreated. The itemson display include not only jewelry, but also snuff-boxes, candlesticks, andsilver cutlery.
