In 1913, one of the leaders of a chemical plant in Leverkusen established a Japanese garden next to his villa. Over time, the garden grew significantly. Today it is an area larger than two football fields! Japanese designers and architects helped equip the garden. Gingko trees, cherry, camellias, irises and other flowers grow here. The ponds are inhabited by huge kois and ducks. You can see statues of birds, mythical animals and of Buddha on the lawns, at the fountains, tea pavilions and pagodas. The garden is particularly impressive in contrast to the pipes of plants surrounding it.
