One of the most picturesque streets of Neumünster isthe old Fürsthofstrasse. It is narrow and quiet, still keeping the oldcobblestone pavement. It appeared on the town map in 1709. It was mainlycraftsmen and traders that used to reside here, that’s why it was called afterthe local blacksmith Jochim Fürst. It is in Fürsthofstrasse that the oldestbuilding of Neumünster is located. It is a straw Fachwerk house #9 dating backto 1750.

Next to it you can find the house where the shoemaker Walter Danker usedto live. In the house #29 built in 1883 the Theateram Fürsthof was located in the 1960s.
