Bad Tölz City Museum is one of the best known in the city. It is located in a beautiful house on the main street - Marktstrasse. The facade is painted in a Baroque technique called Lüftlmalerei, typical of Bavaria. The museum houses many different exhibits on the city history and the region, but the most important is the so-called Celtic girl from Asholdinger (Ascholdinger Mädchen).
The skeleton of the girl, who died aged 14, was found in our time at the time of reconstruction of one of the farmhouses near Bad Tölz. She lay in the earth for two thousand years! The museum focuses on the preservation of traditions of the region, exposing the work of the national craftsmen.
