Initially, the city museum exhibition consisted of only samples of weapons of different eras. For half a century, it covered the period from the primitive to the decline of the Kingdom of Bavaria in the XVII century. Here you can see how Straubing changed and evolved- from the ancient Roman camp, which is reminiscent of armor and pottery dating 2,000 years back till the supernumerary provincial town, living on trade. Here are 7 of the whole world’s 77 extant Roman bronze masks. The impressive part of the exhibition is devoted to religious art and the life of the believer: the figures of the saints and their painted images were ritual attributes.
