Being the most significant temple of the city, one of the largest Bavarian Gothic churches, John Paul II awarded it the title of basilica minor and it enjoys special privileges. This is a Gothic Basilica of the XV century with 20 chapels, almost 100-meter tower and well-preserved interior - stained glass, paintings, and sculptures. One of the stained-glass windows depicting Moses on the background of the German landscape was made as per the design of Albrecht Durer. Another well-known master, Van Eyck, presumably made a sketch for the epitaph on the tomb of one of the graves of the church.
