15 km to south-west from Neuss you will find the castle of Dyck surrounded by a wide moat. It was first mentioned in the 11th century. In the middle of the 17th century the castle acquired its modern appearance – with strong corner towers and square courtyard. Antique furniture and a collection of arms have been preserved in the castle. It is surrounded by an English landscape garden, laid out in the end of the 18th century.
Castle of Dyck regularly hosts exhibitions, and once a year there is a light show with projections on its walls. The largest number of visitors comes here in the beginning of August during the “Classic Days Schloss Dyck” – festival of vintage cars. It has been conducted annually since 2006 and includes a round of classical sports cars and an exhibition of old cars of different eras.
