White Cathedral Mosque is the second cathedral mosque of Tomsk. It is called so by the color of its white walls. It strongly resembles the mosques of Central Asia. It was designed by the chief provincial architect of Tomsk Andrei Langer. Donations for the construction of the second mosque were held among Muslims on Fridays. Its construction began in 1913.
The White Cathedral Mosque of Tomsk is beautifully distinguished against the background of the neighboring houses. It was closed for 50 years from 1939 to 1990. The minaret was destroyed. But at the end of the 20th century it was restored and recognized as an architectural monument of local significance.
