A wide, well-groomed two-kilometer long embankment of Astrakhan is a wonderful place for walking. Efficiently laid with artificial stones with inclusions of real ones, decorated with stylish lanterns and neat benches, the embankment starts at the luxurious 19th century art nouveau building, which currently houses the Wedding Palace.
Opposite the Wedding Palace, the embankment is decorated with an original fountain with rings, where all the newlyweds have their picture taken. You can see contact sculptures on the embankment: a charming Lady with a Dog and a Shoe Shiner. The embankment has observation platforms, which offer a picturesque view of the Volga, as well as boat ramps. Here there is a bright musical fountain and two interactive fountains made specifically for kids. The embankment ends at the impressive Monument to Peter the Great, near which there is a harbor for cruise ships.
