The period when Tsaritsyn-Volgograd was called Stalingrad, was an important page in the city’s chronicle. We know that Joseph Stalin loved this city. It was where he began his political career and the scene of the battle that changed the course of World War II forever. Therefore, the existence of a museum in this city dedicated to this leader is the most historically justified.
Interestingly, the Stalin Museum was established not so long ago, in 2006, on the Mamayev Kurgan Hill. It was founded by enthusiasts: many citizens donated personal belongings, awards and documents to the collection. The museum will interest those wishing to have even a little understanding of Stalin's role in the formation of the Soviet Union, in the victory in the Great Patriotic War and the city restoration from ruins.
